Encaustic Wax Mixed Media on Cradled Birch Wood Panels

Encaustic mixed media artwork with "and the day came when the risk to remain in a tight bud" black lettering on a background made with multiple layers consisting of burlap, chevron patterned fabric, lace, denim and encaustic wax. This part 1 of the painting shows two very tight flower buds, and the denim in the original painting was thoroughly encased in wax to so that it's entirely rigid. This artwork pairs with Magnolias in March Part 2 (which then shows the magnolia flowers blossoming, opening and brightening -- with the remaining part of the entire quote. The artwork include flicks and drops of black India ink to depict that while the creative life can be messy, it is also beautiful.

The two artworks, as a pair, portray visually and texturally, a Life's authentic journey, transition and transcendence from being incongruent (incompatible) to one that is fully lived and acted in direct accordance with their dreams, desires, beliefs, values, mission and goals -- as she (or he) realized that the "risk to remain in a tight bud was more painful that the risk it took to blossom
